So what  Culinary or Gastronomic tourism is exactly? After the Autumn Riga Restaurant Week, about which I wrote in my first post, I became really interested in this question. So, I have done a desk research and would like to share my findings.

The aim of the gastranomic tour is to enjoy cuisine specialities of one or another country. With that the aim don’t come to taste some rare and exotic dish or to taste innumerable foods. The most vital is to delight local recipes,which were forming within the centuries along the traditions and customs of local citizens and their culture of making foods. 

Gastranomic tour is something more than simple journey as it is well developped set of actions for tasting traditional dishes at specific regions.As well as certain ingredients, the ones you never find else where in the world, which have special taste. 

The uniqness of culinary tourism is what culinary enthousiasts have an opportunity to deepen into details of ethnical dishes while beeing in that country which represents this type of cuisine. Just imagine.. isn’t it tempting to live in Italian castle or in real italian family, walk in their  lively bazaars, drink local wine and cook under the direction of local italian chief - outstanding pleasure!

I think typical gastronomic tour help forward guests to imagine about anygiven country. I would say food reveal a secret to the spirit of the nation and helps to understand its mentality.

Think.. about intentions you usually have when set out to the journey. As a rule, these are specific aims whether they are to walk on Great wall of China, visit the remains of ancient Rome or else simply spend the vacations lying on the beach next to the Ocean. I am absolutely convinced, most people travel thinking and preparing the same, this way. While the food tourism gives absolutely new insights and moreover memorable drinking and eating experience.
