Would you like to make a culinary tour? Me – very much! (Too bad that holidays are already finished). I can easily picture to oneself tempting situation: while crowd of tourists are waiting in the museum queues to Vatican, Louvre or Hermitage, I am tasting dish made from Piedmont truffle, and drinking after with flavorous Barolo or I am taking a master class in baking Neapolitan pizza Margherita. Could be as well that I am seeing into preparation of Korean sauce Gochujang and not just somewhere but in a real royal Gyeongbokgung Palace located in South Korea. Or what you say about pretasting “Edam” and “Gouda” notably in the Edam or Gouda cities. By the way, cheese is named after the Dutch city of Gouda, because it has historically been traded there in the Middle Ages.Certainly, it is not possible without sightseeing attractions while travelling– it is kind of silly to go to Paris and even not to glance to the Champs Elysees side, nevertheless I would say that visual impressions only complements gustatory ones. Before bent on going to gastronomic tour, I suggest to choose the most suitable one. Let’s say rural. I believe it would be very exciting to go for a Truffle-Hunting accompanied by a real Truffle man (with one out of only hundred existed) and his dog. Or else to make a jam or bake a cake under the supervision of specialist cookery. Alternatively you can firstly decide to explore all the ins and outs of particular regions’ famous cookery production and then taste them. It is also possible to choose urban gastronomic tour, which includes visit to ethnic cuisine restaurant. Possibly that will be even a Michelin-starred restaurant. Oh, did I mention, I am dreaming to go to such restaurant?! One more way to get familiar with culinary aspects of different countries is to get a master class from the most famoussenior chefs. Lastly, there exist special wine ways (mm… imagining myself going down to a wine cellar in Cianti…). The journeys around Bordeaux or Champagne, by the way, they say in the Champagne region there are about 19 thousand properties! You will not only learn how to drink wine correctly in such tour, you will also take part in grape harvesting and gain experience in treading out the juice from the grapes by legs! However, the perfect celebration for gastronome is visit to gastronomic festivals. Just so, traditional pizza festival in Naples - PizzaFest. For those who will see this one notenough can visit Parma ham festival, which takes place in Langirano. In the beginning of autumn a cheese festival is held in another Italian place – Apulia. That southern part of country is making boasts of producing best home-made cheeses in Europe! Moreover, you can go to oyster festival in September in Ireland, or else come to see popular Oktoberfest in Germany in October. In any Earth corner exists unique features. I have chosen one for myself already and what about you?
